Natural rubber stocks in Japan as of Nov. 10 declined to 3,902 metric tons from 4,038 tons Oct. 31, according to data issued Tuesday by the Rubber Trade Association of Japan.
Japan's natural rubber stocks have declined 61% since end-May, and stand at historically low levels.
Natural latex stocks fell to 283 tons from 295 tons, while synthetic rubber stocks fell to 667 tons from 801 tons.
The association didn't provide any reasons for the changes.
Tight supply in Thailand and Indonesia, the world's top producing and exporting countries, along with strong demand from tire makers in Japan, may have led to the decline in natural rubber stocks, traders said.
They said factories are also using up existing inventories, which are cheaper than new purchases, as prices have hit 13-month highs.
