[23 Dec] Japan Dec. 10 Natural Rubber Stocks Up 20% from End

Natural rubber stocks in Japan as of Dec. 10 stood at 5,673 metric tons, up 20% from 4,705 tons Nov. 30, according to data issued Tuesday by the Rubber Trade Association of Japan.
End-November stocks were earlier estimated at 4,712 tons.
Japan's natural rubber stocks had declined to historically low levels of 3,902 tons Nov. 10 and are still 44% lower than in end-May.
Natural latex stocks rose to 325 tons from 266 tons, while synthetic rubber stocks fell to 785 tons from 858 tons.
The association didn't provide any reasons for the changes.
Tight supply in Thailand and Indonesia, the world's top producing and exporting countries, along with strong demand from tire makers in Japan, may have prompted buyers to aggressively replenish stocks to avoid scarcity over the next few months, traders said.
Until late October, factories were using up existing inventories, which were cheaper than new purchases, as prices are hovering around 15-month highs.
