Malaysian rubber glove makers have purchased Thai rubber latex concentrate on a delivered basis around $1,770 a metric ton, up 31% on month, as rains have hit production and supply, trading executives said Thursday.
Deals for at least 700 tons were done on Wednesday on a cost, insurance, freight basis, said one of the executives.
Due to ongoing rains in southern Thailand, tapping has slowed down and supply for glove makers has tightened, he said.
Malaysia imports around 30,000 tons of latex concentrate each month, mostly from Thailand.
