Turkish automotive sales rose 12.77% in 2009 from 2008, to 557,126 vehicles, the Automotive Distributors' Association said Thursday, the Ihlas News Agency, or IHA, reports.
Passenger car sales increased 21% to 369,819 units in 2009, while light commercial vehicle sales fell a fraction to 187,307 units.
In December, automotive sales more than doubled from the same month a year before, to 88,923 vehicles.
Passenger car sales more than doubled to 57,178 units and light commercial vehicle sales rose 96% to 31,745.
