Toyota Motor Corp. said Wednesday its sales in China last year rose 21% to 709,000 units.
The Japanese auto maker sold 585,000 units in China in 2008, according to a previous company statement.
Sales were mainly driven by its Corolla and Camry sedans and RAV4 and Highlander sport-utility vehicles, Toyota said in a statement.
Toyota has auto-making joint ventures in China with China FAW Group Corp. and Guangzhou Automobile Group Co.
