New Delhi, Feb 24 (PTI) Natural rubber prices fell in the domestic markets for the third consecutive day to Rs 228 per kg, a fall of Rs 3 from yesterday, due to rains in rubber producing areas in Kerala and continuing weak prices in the futures markets.
The prices of natural rubber in the domestic market were at Rs 231 per kg yesterday, according to the Rubber Board of India data.
"Rubber prices have continued the downward trend owing to the weak prices in the international and domestic future markets," Indian Rubber Dealers Association President George Valy told PTI.
"The prices in the domestic market today were also affected by heavy rains in areas near Kottayam, the main rubber producing area, due to which the tapping activity could continue well into March," Valy added.
