NR supplies decline in 4th quarter of 2010

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia—Natural rubber supplies declined in the last three months of 2010, according to the Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries.

The final numbers should show that global supply of NR fell 6.3 percent in the fourth quarter, said the ANRPC, whose members produce 92 percent of the world’s NR. On Dec. 16 the association predicted the commodity’s global output would slide 3.8 percent in the quarter.

Among individual nations, India was expected to report production of rubber fell 4.6 percent; Thailand 33.4 percent; and Vietnam, 2.8 percent.
